The ACP-EU Development Minerals Programme co-hosted Jamaica’s Minerals Week, held from 19 – 26 November 2017. At least two hundred and twenty-five (225) participants were engaged in the week-long event, which raised awareness of key stakeholders and the general public on Development Minerals. The contribution of Development Minerals to the achievement of all the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) was also highlighted in the various meetings held through-out the week, with participants being urged to ensure that they are part of the effort to localize the SDGs and subsequently reap the benefits. Minerals Week consisted of four public forums/dialogues in Yallahs (20 November), Clarendon (21 November), Manchester (23 November) and St Elizabeth (24 November), a Minerals Investment Forum (21 November), a Minerals Industry Conference (22 November), a Minerals Exhibition and Trade Fair (23 & 24 November) and Field Trips (25 November).
