Uganda Training Workshop on Inclusive Finance for Development Minerals

Fifty (50) participants drawn from Uganda’s financial sector including commercial banks, development banks, micro-finance institutions and cooperative credit unions as well as from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development, Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives and Bank of Uganda took part in a 5-day training workshop on Inclusive Finance for Development Minerals in Uganda held from 23-27 April 2018 in Kampala, Uganda.
Twelve (12) financial institutions participated in the training workshop, comprised of eight (8) commercial/development banks, two (2) microfinance institutions and two (2) savings and cooperative unions (SACCOs).

As part of the roll-out strategy for the training workshop, the participants, grouped according to their financial institutions developed an institutional plan on how each of the 12 institutions will increase access to finance for the Development Minerals sector in Uganda.
