The conversation focused on the government’s new Geological and Minerals Development Act of 2025, including the creation of an ASM Fundexpanded licensing, and stronger support for artisanal and small-scale businesses.

Panellists discussed how formalisation, better training, stronger environmental standards, and closer partnerships with industry can help miners operate more safely and profitably. The panel discussion helped strengthen partnerships, increased programme visibility, facilitated engagements with industry and local government, and showcased women-led ASM enterprises.
