An initial field mission assessed training needs, visited laterite-rich sites for soil sampling, and identified areas for future activities. The team also reviewed STAMICO’s current artisanal and small-scale mining training curriculum to integrate topics such as environmental standards, sustainable mining, and business development. This joint mission marked the start of a deeper collaboration, highlighting the role of national institutions in promoting responsible practices and local capacity building in the mining of development minerals.
